    hey guys.

first of all, i did google, but couldnt really find out what the temperature for 7690m xt (my laptop is dv6 6c02tx) should be which is why im asking this question here...

i was playing crysis 2 and decided to use TechPower GPU - Z to check my graphics card temperatures and load, and create a log.. heres a small portion of the log:

    HTML:
Date , GPU Core Clock [MHz] , GPU Memory Clock [MHz] , GPU Temperature [°C] , Fan Speed (%) [%] , Fan Speed (RPM) [RPM] , GPU Load [%] , GPU Temp. #1 [°C] ,

basicallys, thats upto 83C temperature and fan speed remains 30%.. this shouldnt be hapening right? whats the max temperature the gpu should go to? or can this simply be a gpu z fault?

also, if someone could point me to a place where i could get to know max/safe max/idle temperature/etc for gpu's and cpu's that would be great..

im currently using leshcat 12.2 driver...

    thanks in advance...

well firstly, the fan speed cannot be detected by any software that i know of. You may see that it's 30% all the time no matter what core clock it's in.
Secondly, the temp. reached 83C and remain constant there. As long as it didnt reach 90, you're okay.

Crysis 2 is a high end game so it's not strange that the GPU temp's that high. I say it's the CPU u should worry about. I've completed crysis2 with my i7 + 6770M in tropical hot summer... CPU did reach 95C :D

hieubui is right. If you feel uncomfortable with high temperatures, you can switch Turbo Mode off, it will reduce mobo temperatures by ~5 degrees.

I wouldn't say that those two programs would show different temperatures. In fact, developers should be really ham-fisted, if their software would show inaccurate values.

That's not what i meant.. what i'm saying, you get more reading/sensors in OpenHardwareMonitor compare to GPU-Z.

Who knows if that CPU is the real culprit because of shared system cooling. You can't see that in GPU-Z. :D

as said before here, disabling Intel TurboBoost could lower your laptop's overall temperatures by 5C. besides, 83C is fine when you're heavily gaming. i get around 85C with Battlefield 3.
