    Hi all,

In terms of wireless card, there are 2 options with the laptop(ZT3000) that I ordered. Intel 2200 802.11b/g WLAN, 802.11b/g BLUETOOTH. I chose BLUETOOTH one assuming that BLUETOOTH has all the specs of WLAN as well. Am I wrong?

I use wireless 802.11b/g network router at home. So I don't need bluetooth there, however I may go overseas or travel within US where I may need to connect internet by bluetooth. That was the reason I ordered bluetooth one.

My confusion is that, with zx5000 series, as a wireless card option one of the cards is named as 802.11b/g WLAN&BLUETOOTH, so are there 3 type of cards and Am I missing the WLAN feature with the card that I ordered? Thanks.

As far as I know Bluetooth has nothing to do with Internet. BT allows you to use wireless mouse and keyboard without USB receivers. It may as well be used to connect to some other peripherals. Never heard about BT used for Internet connection. Correct me if I am off the right ball park.

I meant connecting to the internet by using blueblooth cell phone. My concern is what are the advantages of these cards over each other, and differences.

The BlueTooth technology is currently for sending small amounts of data like for your mouse, keyboard, headset, & transfering data from your BlueTooth enabled cellphone. It only has a amx transfer rate of 1Mbps (I believe) which is not fast enough to do highspeed internet & a distance limit of approx 30ft. They are considering coming out with a new version which will have a higher bandwidth limit that will allow for highspeed internet (saw it on TV).

Here's a link I found that describes what BlueTooth is and what it can do.
