Has anyone tried to put 8 GB of memory in the 8510p? HP's support site lists the specifications of the 8510p as "Upgradeable to 8 GB maximum (4 GB SODIMM in slots 1 and 2)"

But all the information I have on the santa rosa chipset states the maximum as 4 GB.

So I was wondering if anyone had some insight on this before I bought 2 4GB SODIMMS and tried it out. Hate to waste money.

    Thanks

The Santa Rosa Chipset Datasheet hasn't been revised since June 2007. Even 2GB SODIMM Modules were relatively new then.

    965GM/PM support upto 8GB DDR2-667.
