Hey everyone, I stumbled upon a potential fix for the annoyingly loud fan on the 8510p but I don't really understand how to go about actually doing it.

    Here's the link.

I've read in a couple of other forums that this worked for a few people and I thought that I would try it out. Unfortunately, the instructions aren't very detailed in my opinion and I was pretty confused as to how to actually implement this solution. My main problem is I have no idea how to use the ASL compiler and I can't figure out how to get the 8510x.aml file. I've asked this question on the authors blog but it doesn't seem like he checks it often so I thought I'd have better luck here and also spread the news on a potential fix.

Anyway, hope it works for somebody, and if it does, I am sure a lot of people would appreciate it if you could post more detailed instructions (including me :p)
