    hi,
i am totally not in doing anything with laptop, so here is my question...

how can i add ram to my 8510p ( the little version, 1gig ddr i want another 1)
is there a step by step guide as i really dont want to destroy my laptop or my warranty.
and which ram will work in this laptop, do i need to buy a specific stick? or can i just randomly pick one at comp usa or wherever?

No, do not randomly pick. I wont tell you a brand to get, but I recommend OCZ, G Skill, Corsair, and Patriot. 200 pin DDR2 with PC2 5300 or 5400 (667 MHz)

All you have to do (i have the same laptop as you) is turn off the computer, take out the battery, turn te computer over, take out the one screw for the cover in the VERY middle of the laptop. With the screw (or long nails) SLOWLY and GENTLY pull the things holding the first memory (if its on top, if its not, dont bother). Put one in on the bottom by SLOWLY pushing the gold edges in at a 45 degree angle and then pushing it down SLOWLY until it clicks in, make sure its in there. Then do the same thing for the other, and you're done

I just bought an 8510p and installed an extra gig of Corsair RAM. Easy as pie. I agree with what Crimsonman told you but would add one thing. There is a notch on the bottom of the RAM stick that should be keyed to the little plastic protuberance you'll see when you open up the RAM compartment. Match the notch with the little plastic bit, push the RAM in at a slight angle and then push down flat until it clicks. You're good to go.
