hi, im new to this forum and im just asking for some clarification. i installed the 64 bit vista when i first turned on the computer but did not create recovery disk, after doing so i decided to instead install the 32 bit. and so i pop in the vista 32 bit dvd and i DELETED all the partitions, all three of them. -Operating System install one with the extra space in it, the recovery partition used to create recovery disk, Operating system default drivers.

so my question is how big of a problem is this? i didnt make any recovery disks but i have the one hp sent, does this mean im fine? were there anything i deleted that were significant to system? thanks

well, you'll never get the functionality of the recovery partition, but other than that, you're fine

the recovery partition you deleted is not used to create the recovery discs, instead, it acts as a built in restore partition in case you lose the recovery discs (you press F10 on bootup to restore your system to factory state with the recovery partition)

The disks are fine, you don't need to waste HDD space with the partitions :p

thanks velocity, so basically what i did wasnt a problem at all =p. i just hope i dont lose the recovery disk. so the only negative side is the functionality of the recovery partition by deleting all three partitions?
