Well, as far as I know, finding the ATI display drivers isn't tough, it's installing them. For Vista, I haven't heard of any problems trying to install the ones from ATI's or HP's website. It's only if you have XP Pro where you'll have a problem. Currently, there is no known solution to installing the updated drivers from ATI. So, you're stuck with the old display driver HP gives you. Anyway, what exactly do you want to do with your new laptop? Do you want to do a clean install, clean the out the bloatware (it's not much), etc.? You really don't have to do anything if you don't want to. The laptop works well right out of the box. However, I did do a clean install because I put in a new HD, the 7k200.
