Just trying to get an idea for how common the creaky palmrests are on the 8510s. For me, the area just below the touchpad, near the openings for the screen latch are extremely creaky with only moderate pressure.

Is there a diy fix for this?

No creaking in mine although there is a bit of flex. The flex is there because the notebook sits a bit off the table thanks to the rubber feet on the corners but its really minimal. But again, no noise coming from my palmrest.

There's a bit of flex, but usually no noticeable sound.
