    8510p video card question :D

    Hi, being a Canadian, I do not have the luxury of configuring a 8510p laptop, but have to stick with a pre-built model.

    Basically it comes down to :

    RM269UT#ABA - http://www.cendirect.com/main_en/tech_specs_JO62731H.html

    RM303UT#ABA - http://www.cendirect.com/main_en/tech_specs_JO62852H.html

    I am not 100% sure what the differences are, but the only one I am able to spot is the video card.

    RM269UT#ABA has the HD 2600 whereas the RM303UT#ABA has x2600. Is there any difference or are they the same?

    The other difference is the first has vista business and the second one has xp professional. If the 2 video cards are the same, I am leaning towards the second one because Vista kinda of blows :p

    Anyway, are the 2 video cards the same and are there any differences I did not see?

    EDIT: OOOOOOO I spotted another difference using photoshop overlay :D

    The first one has DVD-RAM/±R/±RW, whereas the second one has DVD±R/±RW

    Dunno what it means other *cry :(

    But according to Hp.ca, both models are identical with the exception of the OS, so I am REALLY leaning towards the latter :p

    they're right, they're the same, they just try to trick you.

    the HD2600 (which is the video card in both) has better drivers in vista. so its all you. the optical drives are the same

    They are indeed identical. It's just XP vs Vista. Now that mobilemod works with the HD 2600 and XP the drivers are also identical.

    Awesome thanks! I think Im gonna go with the Vista one anyway because I have XP Prof at home so if I don't like Vista, I can reinstall XP without paying
