Depends what you are doing and how bright your screen is.

I can get about 4 hours with the 8 cell battery alone when doing some light tasks like office, surfing the web, etc.

I would assume that the 12 cell gives you additional 150% battery life, which makes 10 hours (!) running time.

    I don't have the 12 cell though - making only assumptions ;)

    No other answer?
I also wonder if this battery is easy to transport, or not?

Your math is slightly wrong. 50% more (or 150% times original) of 4 hours is 6 hours, not 10.

yeah, it's more like 6 hours. My cousin has a 12 cell on her HP and she gets about 5- 6 hours.

4 hours (8 cell) + 6 hours (12 cell) = 10 hours. More if you don't use wifi, have your screen brightness level all the way down, undervolt your cpu and have your HDD powersave options on.

HP says 16 hours total and 10 for the 12 cell. I bought one with the "ROAD WARRIOR BUNDLE", but I have not used it on that battery yet. My 8 cell lasts 3 hours on maximum performance with WIFI, though once you start playing audio that drops drastically.

Ill take some pics of the 12 cell connected. I actually like it with the 12 cell because it tilts the back up so typing is much easier.

With both batteries on power saver mode

Here are the extras that came with that pack. The only thing I really wanted was the ultra battery and the auto/air charger which would have cost more than the package:

Mouse and smart data protection service

Here is the battery itself. It even has a button to check the level of charge

4-5 hours? Must be nice. I have a dv6375 and I get only 2 hours with my 12 cell!

Using RMClock in power saving mode and wifi.

I have the f28 BIOS. Should I drop to f16?

I dont know if that will make a difference; I use a different BIOS for the 8710W. Do you play a lot of music while on battery? How long have you had the battery?

So If I'm not mistaken, you can have two batteries with the combine of 20 cells. Right ?

Were those 4 hr 50 min and 9 hr 3 min screen shots taken from the 8710w, 8710p, or 8510w/p? I would be surprised if it was the 8710w since I didn't think the battery life was that long.

    Thanks,
    Rayt

Yes, it was for the 8710W. I'm running a clean install of VB 32bit with only a few HP apps like Security Manager and Quick Launch Buttons, though there did not seem to be much bloatware with the image that came on this unit.

That's right. In my case, the 12 cell lasts for about 5 hrs running time

yes the 12 cell has 50% more juice than the original battery, but I was calculating the total battery life when both batteries are inserted.

8 cell gives you around 4h runtime that makes it 30min per cell. when you plug in the 12 cell as well as the 8 cell battery, you'll have 20 cells in total which give theoretically 10h battery life. (assuming that the 8 cell battery uses the same cells as the 12 cell)

again, these are very rough, armchair estimates. could someone who owns a the 12 cell battery shed some light on this matter?
