im currently waiting for my 8510w, and are a frequently reader in here about this, what im wondering about is this that you can choose os, either vista 64 or 32, and my question is this, if you choose 32 bit, can you later on change it to 64bit and vica versa.

The answer to your first question is yes. You can order Vista 64 or Vista 32 bit. You can also order XP Pro and XP Pro 64 bit with this model. The answer to your second question is yes. You can switch the operating system from Vista 64 bit to Vista 32 bit and from Vista 32 bit to Vista 64 bit. The best way to tell which operating system you can order is to ask the Sales Advisor or choose the configure option on the website. The operating systems should be listed under the configure option.

    Just got mine.
It came with business 32 and 64.
When I installed it told me I coundt change it after, I imagine this means you cant migrate from one to the other..not sure though.
I bought an xp pro license and installed that after I tried out vista 32 for a day. It installed fine and memory footprint went from 750mb with 70 processes to 27 processes and 160 mb.

I do not have sata native drivers running yet but everything else went in fine off the HP drivers site.
