    Hello!

I'm a bit dissapointed with my elitebook, cause it has several issues.
First of all I had made a keyboard and dvd-unit replacement (space key was loose and dvd was very loud).

After I got it back I reinstalled windows (Vista Ultimate 64bit) and after a week it crashed with the blue screen at boot (error 7E). I could not come into windows (not even in safe mode or system restore), so I brought it back to HP.

They did not find any hardware failures with the tests. They EVEN tried installing winXP on some other disk and while everything worked fine they made a conclusion that the laptop is ok. And I was just advised to reinstall OS.

Did that and after 2 days some new troubles appeared.
The "mouse" was clicking randomly (mostly with right button) and the current program (window) stopped being active.
I thought it was a virus (avira did not find anything), so I did another clean install (this time win7 32bit) - same thing. Went back to Vista 64 (with restore dvds made before the troubles began).

I tried disabling mouse, touch pad and touch styk - the mouse works normally when having touch styk disabled.

Now Vista is changing my Power Schemes sometimes (from HP Optimized to High performance and back for a few times). And I have no clue what is wrong.
So I hope that you could help me.

    Thank you in advance.

After playing with some different drivers, I have found out that:
    - sometimes right click button doesn't work (if I select different action, it works)
    - if TouchStyk is enabled: when I "press" the Styk (as if I wanted to move the cursor) it right-clicks (I have not enabled this feaure). And still some random clicks are present (even if I don't do anything).

Apart from that, USB mouse works perfectly.

    Hello strahc,

I have problems with the touchpad right button click since the first day, and the problem is the same for vista and ubuntu (a hardware problem?). It's a random problem, very strange, and I have to disable the touchpad to work with an usb mouse.

Maybe in the summer I will send the notebook to hp, now i need it.

    bye
