Does anyone have any idea whether HP is planning on offering the 8600M GT GPU for the dv9500t anytime in the foreseeable future? The dv9500t looks very good overall, but I'm disappointed that HP's only offering the 8600M GS GPU as an option- it seems like the difference between the GS and GT is fairly significant. Any inside information/predictions would be greatly appreciated...

I would to know this too.. especially for the 6500 series, or is that not possible?

I would seriously doubt you'll see any higher graphics options in the near future for either the 6500t or the 9500t. If you want better graphics, the HP HDX will have the HD2600XT, which should outperform the 8600GT. I suppose it's possible HP will pickup some 65nm cards when nVidia releases them, since their main competitor (Dell) has a high end card on their 15.4".

I definitely noticed that Dell is offering the GT...I would have thought HP would respond to that- btnh47 and I can't be the only ones hoping for better graphics...

Yeah, I'm hoping for better graphics too, but one can't help but notice that HP never felt compelled to respond to Dell offering th Go7900GS in their 17". I feel that HP is going for the overall multimedia laptops, rather than gaming laptops, and for all-non gaming multimedia work their GPUs are fine.

Speaking of the 8600M-GS in the dv9500t, anyone know (or have any reasonable idea) whether or not that card can be upgraded?

I definitely noticed that too. Maybe all of the tepid reviews the 8600 GS is getting combined with the positive attention Dell's new models are getting will compel HP to up the ante...although I'm not optimistic.

People keep raving about the Sager 2090, but I really like the look of the HP and, more importantly, the 17" screen. If they put the 8600 GT in the dv9500t, I'd get it in a heartbeat.

Dell's 15.4" and 17" have met or beaten HP's in terms of graphics performance for years. You could only get up to a 7600 in their 17" models, but the Dells had the 7900GS and up!
