    8710P NVS 320m or 8710w FX 1600M

    I am looking at purchasing a 8710p 320m with the blue ray drive/glossy screen wsxga+ screen for 2549 or the 8710w with blue ray drive/ wuxga with 1600fx for 3299.

    I like the looks of the hp glossy screens in BestBuy but the review for the 8710w was excellent and the screen was rated very high and bright .

    Any idea about the gaming performance between the 320 m and the 1600m. I would assume the 8710p with the 320m might last about 30 minutes longer on battery power. I am not a heavy gamer but might use flight simulator or other type of games.

    Any suggestions.

    They are the 8700M GT and the 8600M GT respectively.

    The 8700M GT is an overclocked 8600M GT but it also has a dual-rank memory interface, so it's at least 20-30% faster...

    nah the 570M is the 8600GT

    320M is the 8600GS.

    But if all the specs of the two laptops are the same I wouldn't pay like $1000 more after tax just for a graphics card....

    Go for the 8710p.
