I know the standard for this model is the 667Mhz DDR2, but I was curious if anyone had luck with 800Mhz memory on this model? I would like to upgrade the memory, but in case I cannot find a good deal on the 667 stuff, wondering if the 800 would work (albeit likely at the slower speed). Any one do this yet?

Also, any one get a quad-core processor working on this model? I know the T9500 is an awesome processor. I'm just curious. Thanks.

800MHz memory is compatible, but it would downclock to 667MHz. There is negligible performance difference.
There are no compatible quad core processors for the 8710w. The best you could put into it is the X9000 Extreme CPU at 2.8GHz.

So whats the best processor that you can do (not one of the Extreme series) for this laptop? The T9500 or T9600? It has a T7800 already, but I'd like to get the fastest thing possible, but within reasonable costs.
