    Hello

What do you think, is there an HP 8710w Update (e.g Centrino 2) coming in the next Months? Should i buy now or wait 1 or 2 Months?

    Regards

    Marcel

As a general rule, if you can wait, wait. Technology is always getting better.

The new version will be called the EliteBook 8730w, but it won't be out before October, may be even November...

It's not officially announced yet, so we don't.

I can tell you for certain it can contain the Quadro 3 700M... I have seen it in person.

The 8730w isn't due so soon as it takes a while before HP updates its high end business models as they have a longer life span.

I thought this notebook was not released yet, and that it was supposed to be out in October or later. Where did you see it?

and what is the 3700M equivalent? possibly a high end nvidia 9 series card? And if you've seen it Origamikid89, has the design changed or anything important to know?

    Judging by this page.....
    http://www.hp.com/sbso/solutions/pc_expertise/professional_innovations/differences-w.html
.... cool things are in store for the upcoming 8530{p,w} and 8730{p,w} laptops.

I just wish I knew a better ETA for the thing. The EliteBook 6930p was announced near the end of June, and is still not yet available near the end of July... so I'm worried that even if if they announce the new high-end models in, say, September... they won't be available until November.

Without intending it, I met a workstation salesperson/tester for HP and he showed it to me. He said it's due it ~Sept., the model had a 3700 in it, and will have the option of the mobile quadcore from intel (this model didn't). That's all I know; besides the unannounced nvidia card, you probably could have guessed the rest.

Yeah, sounds really really fine. Gonna get me one of these babies when they're available.

Besides, i hope that hp finally equips this series throughout with high quality stuff, especially regarding the display panel.

Hmm, due in September? Does that mean due to be announced, or due to be purchaseable?
Also, you said you saw the thing? Would you say that (new model) is to (old 8710w) as (new EliteBook 6930p) is to (old 6910p)? I'm speaking of appearance, features (as in the "what's the difference" link), and specs.

Also, take a look in the Services Media Library ( http://h20181.www2.hp.com/plmcontent/NACSC/SML/ ) for the BIOS simulator from the 6930p.... it looks like there will be some rather interesting things to play with.

I just hope I can get ATI on the upcoming 15" model, as well as an LED backlight, if possible -- I'd love to have LED 1920x1200, but I'd rather have LED 1680x1050 than a dim 1920x1200.

I hope they don't look like these new business line that is coming out now, because I prefer the way the 8710w looks now. I have a 6910p and it looks great, the newer laptops look cheaper
