So, I will be traveling on a plane today. I have an old HP which has the 90w adapter, which is functionally the same as the 90w travel adapter that I could have ordered with my dv6t. My question is, what the diff between the 90w and the 120w? I read somewhere that 90w won't allow turbo boost? I would like to game on the plane, will i need to bring my regular adapter or will the 90w be fine?

Whatever the wattage/amperage it says on your dv6t adapter I would not recommend straying from that. Bring the regular adapter.

HPs website says the 90W Smart AC/Auto/Air Adapter is compatible with the dv6-6000 series. However, the slim 90W is not listed. I have no idea what the difference is though.

According to specs:
Using Intel, max power draw = 65W
Using AMD Graphics, max power draw = 120W
If you are not using the AMD Graphics 90W is enough. Even if you use it, it would rarely reach 120W. Therefore, 90W is perfectly safe, as it is what I use when I travel. -

Planes have outlets?
I used to fly 7+ times a year but I always flew cheap airlines... -
