Ok hello everybody![]()
I recently bought this laptop
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=3827514&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
Specs
Intel Core 2 Duo 45nm P7350 2ghz
Dedicated Nvidia 256mb 9200M GE
Intel Penyrn Core 2 Duo 2Ghz P7350
15.6 screen size, RES 1366x768 (so 16:9)
250gb HDD
2GB RAM
So not to bad.. Ok heres my question, I tried to overclock the 9200M with the stock Nvidia drivers that came with the laptop, there version was 175.97.
I tried every program i could think off!!! Rivatuner, Ntune, Ati Tool... etc None of them would change the core or memory clock...
Then i thought it was the drivers, so i upgraded to Dox 182.something and the 9200m would still not overclock!
Also in the original drivers the card showed up as a 9200M GE, with the DOX drivers it shows up as 9200M GS any difference?
thank you
P.S.
Do you think I could upgrade the 9200M to a 9600m ?

You cannot upgrade the GPU, it is soldered into the board.
Did you try 185.20? Only certain drivers are overclockable.
I use 185.20 and riva tuner. -
Dox 185.20 or Stock 185.20?

Hi Tiger,
did you try Zotac Firestorm to OC? Darth Bane found this worked with his DV5 and 9200M GS, it seems to have a built in override for non Zotac cards so that when the message box says it couldn't find a Zotac card, just hold the shift button down while clicking OK.
There is a thread on 9200M GS OC here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=299785
and some curiosity as to what the difference between the 9200M GS and 9200M GE is exactly see here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=338479
so it would be good if you could find out -
Let me tell you why!
9200mgs have four clock levels, and rivatuner ver2.24 could only detect three levels ! so you could only overclock the third clock level(named performance 3d),you see this picture and you will find the problem! How we could overclock the forth level,I think the rivatuner must be updata!
9200M GE or 9200M GS Locked? No Overclock?
