HP Pavilion 9500T
Noticed a newer bios version (F.23A) than the one i was using on the HP website.
I had bought the hl2 pack with a bunch of games including the orange box...
I only play counter-strike source though. Decided to try Hl2. Noticed my computer running hot only after about 20min. Quit the game and check RivaTuner...Sure enough the temp was 90C. Never have had heat issues with the current setup and I've played CS:S for hours. It occured to me this morning that I had changed the bios and maybe that was related to the overheating. I contacted HP online tech. They said that changing the bios would not effect the temp. Then 10min later when I was looking at there website theres a section about "if you have heat problems make sure you have the latest bios..." so obviously it can effect the temp. WTF. Anyway just seeing if anyone else has experienced this issue, I'm probably going to revert to a previous bios version when I get home from work. I'm a little worried though because I'm not positive which version was installed before! I think it was f.22a![]()

you can try the latest BIOS which is F.28
-
Do you use that Version? Isn't the F.28 for AMD processors.
What are Bios updates like graphic driver updates( you have go to an alternative source other than the Hp's updates to get the latest and greatest)? -
oh sorry, my bad,
but be careful with bios downgrades, because it can yield some pretty undesirable outcomes -
went back to the f.22a bios. I guess it's just the game half-life 2. It's wierd that the computer would run hot playing that game but not counter-strike source which i know is run on the same engine. Didn't have that problem with COD4 either.
