My synaptics drivers from hp crash on startup. Leaving me without a "scrolling" part of the touchpad.

    Any ideas?

I had the same problem with my dv9500t. Go to HP's site and see if there are updated drivers and if there are download them. Then, uninstall synaptics touchpad and reinstall the drivers. This should work, unless it is a hardware problem. Also, you can go inside of synaptics touchpad settings and make sure the area for scrolling is set right, you can also modify the area set for scrolling as well. Hope this helps!

I've had the same problem. Just go to synaptics website and download the newest drivers. They are 32 and 64 bit so no problems there. HP usually is months behind on their driver updates.

Thanks, i have no idea why i didn't check synaptics.

Does anyone know why my quick launch buttons stopped making noise and the Q button does nothing? The rest work.

You didn't install the quicklaunch buttons driver (qlb) and/or quickplay (qpw).

Orev's right. I had the same problem the first time I did a clean install. Search the forums and you'll find the correct way to do a clean install and have the same functionality you had when HP sent you the laptop.
