    Hi,
I am leaning towards the dv5t right now and i just wondered what the difference is between the dv5t and the dv7t besides their size. Do they have the same sound cards? And does the dv5t have a sub woofer like the dv7t?
And would the Nvidia 9600M GT graphics card that they have be able to play games like Medieval 2: Total War on at least medium settings? Oh and can someone tell me if the TV tuner comes with an antenna or something.

    Thanks

The dv5t doesn't come with the subwoofer, but otherwise they're just about identical in hardware other than size. The graphics card is pretty good, I'm running C&C3 on max everything and pulling very smooth framrates and I can run Crysis on roughly medium(I play on low if I want maximum playability). I don't have the TV tuner, but from the way the manual looks, it seems to come with an antenna.

At the current time the DV5 has very severe heating problems. It's a big computer packed into a small casing. At least with the DV7 it has room and can cool down much more efficiently. The DV7 is always cool and surprisingly enough feels lighter than it is. I tote it around with me everywhere and it's fairly comfortable.

As for the TV Tuner, it comes with an antennae. It wouldn't make sense not to. It's like buying a car with no keys.

dv5 series do not have "very severe" heating problems. In fact, they have no "problems" with heat. They get warm, thats it. This heat does not create any malfunctions and stays well within the max heat specs for the processors available. I know this first hand because I have two of them, one with a T9600 processor the other a P8600. Both have the Nvidia 9600M GT GPU which is the main source of heat. Probably not a good idea to make such rash statements particularly when you dont own one. In the 1600 plus posts in the dv5t lounge, no one has had any kind of heat related malfunction.

thanks a lot for the info. I am now leaning over to the dv7t. But should I get the 7200 RPM dual harddrive or the regular 5400 RPM one. I mean would there be any noticable difference? But should I just get the dv5t if im gonna game because i heard that the larger your screen is, the more your graphics card will be worked. Or is it the screen resolution, or both?
