This question goes out to everyone on this forum who is using the new DV2,3,5,6,7T series pavilion notebooks and the older DV2,4,6,7000T lines.
Can you access and enable AHCI MODE in your BIOS. Because apparently no one on this forum knows how to. A quick search will also give you no answers - Nor will a search all over the web for 2 days give you an answer.
Please can anyone. And if you can, PLEASE post a picture or exact, super specific details on which tab it is under!
Thank you in advanced!

Dude I don't even know what AHCI is lol. Good luck tho.

This frustrates me! Argh! There are so many people here everyday and all they talk about is how long their HP computer will take to ship. .
Can someone be of help here?
I'm starting to get a feel that HP forums are for HP fan boys who don't know anything other than how to buy an HP notebook. -
Wait a minute...didn't you have a thread going about this already?
AFAIK, there is no BIOS option on HP notebooks that specifically enable AHCI. Either it never existed, or HP did indeed lock the option out -- and there is no way to unlock it so that you can change the mode. -
They removed AHCI option from the BIOS a while ago. Its for the models which came out with XP from factory
If you are trying to install XP, you will need to slipstream the SATA driver using nLite. -
hmm, a bunch of fan boys are we...
On a side note, I should expect to get my new HP dv22xt by the end of the week... I am checking Fed-Ex hourly... -

This is stupid. And everyone in this forum is simply telling me they don't use AHCI mode at ALL?
What is wrong with you guys? -
-
Yes, what are you trying to achieve with ACHI? enabling NCQ?
-
You're accusing everyone here of being "HP fanboys" and nothing more - yet you dont really seem to be able to even navigate the BIOS. If the option was there, you would have seen it - and there would indeed probably be some posts about it somewhere. The option is not there.
Someone else said that its enabled by default. Hopefully that's true, and hopefully that answers your question.

Dude. You're the only person here who has a N router. Period. You're ahead of the game. Tough. Just wait till everyone catches up. By that time having a dead N before everyone kills the point.
-
I have had issues with my Intel WLAN card as well even when I was using the old "slow" G speed. The stupid intel WLAN would constantly disconnect. I later found that if I disable N via the driver I no longer got disconnected.
I personally still consider N to be in beta so I will not be purchasing a N router for some time. I find G to be more stable and fast enough for me
Oh, I would also like to "second" the comment that AHCI is on by default on all HP consumer models which have the VISTA OS. That is why you have to slipstream the Intel drivers onto a Windows XP install CD. Which I have and it works great.
A Quick Question for EVERYONE!
