I'm interested in two nx9420 models:

    #1) RB549UT#ABA $1800
Processor Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7200 (2.0-GHz)
Hard Drive 100-GB 5400 rpm SATA
Optical Drive DVD+/-RW SuperMulti with Double Layer
Display 17.0-inch WSXGA+ wide viewing angle BrightView display
    nx9420

    #2) RB550UA#ABA $2050
Processor Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7400 (2.16-GHz)
Hard Drive 100-GB 7200 rpm SATA
Display 17.0-inch WSXGA+ wide viewing angle display

    #1 has brightview lcd
    #2 has a 2.16g cpu and 7200rpm hardd drive

I wish I could have both advantages, however, I could not. I chatted online, that's the models available now. I will buy one in the end of this month.
More suggestions and comments are needed for making a final decision.
    Thanks

If the amount of RAM is the same, I suggest you go for #1 and save yourself $250.

The extra processing speed and hard drive speed are less important than the amount of RAM.

Thanks a lot. I will buy #1 and get another 1G RAM. If possible, I will buy a new hard drive and put the slow disk in an external enclose as a usb hard drive.

5400 isn't really slow, but at least try it out before forking out cash to get a 7200 RPM.

the only reason i got a 7200 is because i got a deal on getting this configuration, otherwise I might have stayed at 5400
