I am planning on getting a HDX18t with a q9000 processor, 4 GB DDR3 memory, GT 130M graphics, and possibly the TV tuner. I have a few questions that I hope someone will be kind enough to answer before I pull the trigger.
1. If I get the q9000 now, what processor families could I eventually upgrade to. Can I put any laptop Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, or Core 2 Extreme into the computer or is it limited by my original purchase.
2. I am curious about the DDR3 memory. Is the computer actually using DDR3 as its main ram or is that only for the graphics and DDR2 for the main ram? I have not been able to find a solid answer about that.
3. Finally, I have been reading about some core i7 laptops coming out in the near future. From the looks of the specs for a comparable price I am better off with this for now, but do you think that there will be a big price cut fairly soon for the HDX18t because they are rolling out the new i7's? Am I better off waiting for the new technology to drop the price of the HDX18ts or does one have nothing to do with the other and no extreme price cut is expected.
Thanks in advance for any help.
