Hi.![]()
I've had my dv8000 laptop for a little over a year now, and have been blissfully unaware of the whole host of keyboard issues that have been occuring with this and other models in the dv series. That is, I've had a few funny issues with the Capslock, but nothing I couldn't fix by mucking around with the keys; that is, it didn't require a reboot at all, and I wasn't all that worried.
Half a year ago, there were conflictions with a webcam I installed, and somehow for some reason after this confliction, my computer stopped registering my scanner. The Printer was perfectly fine. I tried a variety of things to fix this problem, but nothing worked, so I ordered recovery CDs from hp. I didn't use them until just recently, when my keyboard (or...mouse?) began to act up; when it does this, the top item in every list will keep selecting no matter where I'm trying to click, and the cursor will go to the beginning of every line while I'm typing. It gets worse the longer I'm on the computer. I figured this was a virus, so I took it into staples to basically get stripped and reloaded with those recovery CDs.
I got it back about three days ago and the problem hasn't been fixed. It had six Trojans which were taken care of, so I suppose the problem wasn't caused by a virus at all. I don't think it's a problem with the touchpad because I've disabled it and tried another mouse, with the same problem still occuring. And I should also mention, it has been doing this thing for a few months now, but it was so subtle and infrequent that at first I thought I was doing it accidentally by maybe leaning on a key or brushing the touch pad.
I was just wondering if this is another issue that's been associated with these computers, or if it's something any of you might be familiar with...I just want to know if this can be fixed, or if I should just look into saving up for another laptop.
Thanks a lot for your help.![]()

Yes, sorry. I have done the recovery from the CD.
