I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question.

The notebook I have arriving soon has a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS graphics card installed.

Is it possible for me to upgrade this card myself once it arrives to something like a NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT?

Would this be an easy process? Would it simply involve switching cards and everything works?

Thanks for the help guys.

there are a couple of exceptions, such as some Asus and Clevo models that are "upgradeable" but the upgrade options are limited to whichever card is sold for the specific notebook.
