    It would be helpful if you were more specific.

    For instance, Windows has its own standard feature which can show the remaining battery life in the taskbar.

    Notebook manufacturers also tend to include power management software of their own, which can also show the remaining battery time.

    Hence, I suggest you provide more details of what the issue is, along with details of which notebook and operating system you are referring to.

    Another vote for RMclock and notebook hardware control. But personally if I had to use only one, I'd use RMclock.

    Vista is not showing up the time remaining, I don't think even through the programs you have mentioned neofx19

    I used to use those programs but took it off. I figured it uses resources and in itself decreases battery life. I already know abouts when the battery will be exhausted. The battery percentage indicator is enough for me.

    I don't think the programs will take up much resources and decreases battery life. Usually it is the LCD backlighting & hard drives that drains power under intensive use.
