After using the Thinkpad for months/years, does the black plastic where you rest your palms wear out and become all shiny compared to the rest of the chassis? I've seen it happen to my friends' HP dv1000 laptop, and it's just the ugliest thing ever!

Hasnt happened to my palm rests. I have a used my T60 almost everyday at work (8 hours plus) for over a year and the only change in color I can see is on the spacebar. It is shiny on the right side where I press it with the thumb. Cant notice it unless you bend back and look at an angle.
