A question to HP Pavilion DV6542ev owners.

One my friends lost the AC Adapter of this laptop and i am looking to buy a similar one but i don't know the specs (V, A, Watt, and the model number of the AC Adapter). Can someone that owns this laptop provide these specs and do you think that it is safe to buy one that is not genuine from an electronic spare parts shop? Thanks.

Usually you can find adapters and any laptop accessory parts on hp.com. If you can't find it there you can google it or post here.

 

Thanks for replying. In the link you provided it states that it is suitable for DV6000. I also checked this one http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/notebook/notebook_hp/batteries/1/accessories/DL606A%23ABA from the same site which is 65W which doesn't mention DV6000. Strange because here http://www.laptops-upgrade.com/hp-pavilion-dv6000-65watt-ac-adapter.html the model dv6542ev is included in the compatibility list. That is why i need to know the exact specs of the ac adapter.

The W output confuses me. In the link posted by envision it states that it is a 90W adapter. Here http://www.laptops-upgrade.com/hp-pavilion-dv6000-65watt-ac-adapter.html my model is also listed although this adaper is 65W. You can see the exact specs of the adapter posted by envision here:

The 90W adapter is for use with systems which shipped with dedicated graphics cards. Seems like your model has the integrated Intel GPU, if so then the 65W should work. Be aware that the 90W and 65W models have slightly different size pins, so 90W adapter wont fit with a laptop with a 65W plug.

 

Ok, thanks for replying. I bought this http://www.pyramid.com/Product.aspx?StockCode=4112273 and it works ok. It is 18.5V, 3.5A, 65W.
