Best Buy has an amazing deal right now:

    DV5z with zm-70, 3gb ram, ati hd 3200, 160GB and Bluray.
    plus bonuses. all for 809$.

Did you get the catch yet? no? well I was the same as you,
until Lakjin pointed out in the bargain forum that hp does not allow a hd 3200 with bluray...

    What Is going on here?

    Wow...

I wouldn't say that Blu ray with the HD 3200 is possible, maybe it's just HP's marketing...

sorry, I didn't see it. But still - you didn't address the weirdness and mysteriousness of the matter...

so the verdict is that they work fine together and it's just a HP marketing trick? are you sure about it?

Here's some more information I found:

    ATI Radeon HD 3200

The AMD ATI Radeon (Mobility) HD 3200 is an onboard (shared Memory) graphics chip (on the RS780M chipset). It is based on the HD 2400 graphics core and features the UVD video engine to decode HD videos (Avivo HD).

The UVD video engine is able to decode HD videos (MPEG-2, H.264, and VC-1) in all stages and allows the fluent playback of HD videos (e.g. Blu-ray) with a relative low CPU utilization (called Avivo HD). The HD 3200 is the first onboard graphics card that allows the fluent playback of Blu-ray videos.

As far as why HP forces you to upgrade, I couldn't $ay...

the HD 3200 is sure capable of playing HD content. It's actually a delicated GPU shrink down to an IGP size.

That one of HP marketing tricks to make you pay a extra $100 for a delicated card to get a blu-ray drive. The HD 3200 will play blu-ray movies just fine with no lag
