Howfy folks,
i bought the NC8430 in september and i love it, but there seems to be a fault either in the battery, the plug port or the ac adapter, i presume its the ac adapter because it makes a beepingbuzzing noise when plugged into the electricity and fails to charge the laptop rendering it useless. i rang HP and i am expecting a new plug ether tomorrow or saturday, whats the likely hood of actually recieveing this plug and has anyone else encountered this problem?
cheers

Huh? If Royal Mail don't mes up, of course you'll get it. Also, no I haven't had problems with the AC, although it does get warm. I've tried turning it on the side as I think that's better for heat dissipation
At least you don't have USB port trouble! My ports think they're USB 1.1. Now I have to reformatI don't mind, but not in the middle of uni coursework season! Actually your problem is bigger...

yeah iv **** loads of uni stuff, i can use my fiances lappy, which im on now but i want my lappy that i paid good money for lol. aye well ill just have to wait, they only posted it on monday anyway and its a 3-5 waiting period plus the post is a bit funny at the minute too. my targus mouse buggered up too, now the wee do da thingamajig that u put in the usb port does light up and register the mouse so i have to use kate's mouse too lol

My mouse is fine, but I wouldn't use it for an FPS. Seems to enter sleep too readily. But to me its expected they wouldn't include a decent free mouse
You can be happy at least, your laptop appears to be OK. Just need a new AC and you're up and running
At least we got it relatively cheap. £600-odd quid on the receipt (and then £100-odd for the warranty)? And the laptop is sold for like £1k on its own -
yeah i kno, the lappy its slf is great, i love it, itll run anything i throw at it lol but just the plug and mouse went down but as u say the crappy mouse is expected. i never got my warrenty, laptopsdirect arent very good are they, i got fed up with them, iv got the 3 year guarntee, ill prob upgrade by the third year anyways

Search for post by me in the NC8430 thread, with the search term "warranty". My posts and instructions span several pages if memory serves me correctly
I remember posting the website and code they gave me to register for the 3 year warranty. I think it'll be OK for you to use it. Just enter your laptop's unique serial and product no. And be honest about the purchase date! They can check! You'll have to print off your certificate or jot the certificate number down for future reference. I figured they sold all the bundles but I wondered when I checked the other day why so many warranty spaces were unregistered -
oh wow, thank you, ill have a look now, i remember that date was the 8th sept lol
