stupid me shouldn't have ordered, as a member here falsely claimed he had the switchable graphics working. guess i'll be sending back laptop #3 right after it arrives so I can get my credit card charge for a useless laptop, reversed. sigh.

There's an interesting idea. You could ask them what they're planning to do with the other 6000s they still have laying around. I can't imagine that they sold them all off.

Dave you are compaining so much and in every post. I'm sry but I'm sick of your constant comment about switchable graphics.
"It doesn't work in FSX and Minecraft" Most of the users don't play this crap...
And the switchable graphics works. You received a broken rig but that doesn't mean everybody gets what u got.
I read the forum every day and only yours ATI doesn't turn on properly.
Yeah dynamic switching doesn't work so well, but still it works well when you configure High priority and low for the applications.
Not to offend you but please spare us your constant moaning...
You are convincing many users not to buy the laptop only because of FSX and Minesweeper which almost nobody plays anymore :D

This. I ordered the laptop knowing the potential switchable graphics problem. The switchable Graphics card not changing for every game but that wasn't an issue for me. You see, Im not a hard-core gamer and i dont expect Radeon to read every game on the planet. Its a new technology, and i just want My laptop to be reliable and last me 4 years thorough college and play some games (Mostly Starcraft 2 which i hear it works well on by most reviews).

Who knows? You do know there are some individuals who the switchable graphics card works near flawlessly? Not everyone has this problem. Maybe ill be one of them, and in the rare case the card literary reads no game i can always return it Hp even pays for shipping so you have nothing to lose. At 33% off it wasn't a bad deal.

All in all its not a bad laptop, and its got an amazing graphics card for most games if it actually switches and recognizes the game. No other laptop compared to the dv6t quad edition considering your getting a 2nd generation quad i7 processor, Full 1920x1080 HD Screen, 8gb ram ddr3, an amazing graphics card good for most games (if it recognizes it, and it should),Great battery life, for around $1000 after i inserted the 33% off coupon.

Life isnt about, and about getting your laptop to play every game on the market. I also factored reliability, battery life, value, and portability given the Specs when purchasing this laptop.

Seriously No other laptop's specs come close to the price your paying for this laptop if you insert the 33% off coupon.

For a small number of games (e.g. Minecraft), the laptop does not switch to the discreet GPU so you will be gaming with Intel's HD 3000 graphics. The reason that some people make a bigger deal of it than others is that for the majority of games, it works perfectly fine so most don't even notice it, but when it doesn't work, there's nothing we can do about it. It should eventually be fixed with driver updates, but for now it doesn't quite work right.

    Sry for "Minecraft"
But you complain about FSX in all of your comments.
