For all of you V2000Z Turion owners out there.

If you recently purchased the above product, you may have received a bugged processor driver. Symptons include: processor running non-stop at full-speed with no ability to speedstep. The only fix for this particular product is to download the second-to-latest driver, 1.1.0.18 Rev A1. This file is no longer on the HP support site. I have decided to host the file so all with this problem may get the fix.

TITLE: AMD Processor Update for Microsoft Windows XP

    VERSION: 1.1.0.18 Rev A1

I just have seen multiple problems with the issue. Just to check, have you run MobileMeter to confirm your clockspeed?

Glad to see you do not have the problem. It just started with me, then I saw others with the problems and decided to host the fix.

Dunno if it'll help but as soon as I got my notebook, I formatted and downloaded the newest driver from AMD- maybe it has something to do with the drivers HP/Compaq loads on their notebooks even if they're the same release #. Also, maybe it's a conflict with some other pre-loaded software that the v2000z comes with (which I basically got rid of-i call it crapware).

Download (save to disk) and run MobMeter (no installation required):
    http://tinyurl.com/8nzpy

    It'll list your realtime clockspeed.

The new driver caused problems unless one uses RMclock. All of us have the default throttle disabled and re-enabled by RMclock, so the new driver cannot mess it up :)

I see, for those of you that don't use RMClock, here is your fix.
