    Hi gang,

just thought I'd pass this along. Here's a link to the "AMD Processor Update for Windows XP" for all you HP AMD laptop owners:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-29171-1&lc=en&sw_lang=8&product=443082&os=228&cc=us

I'm not sure I'm going to update my Zv5430us just yet - I may wait a bit to see if anyone has a use for it (I really don't at the moment).

    Cheers!

I received the email from HP for this update, so I clicked on it and started running it, but when the install program runs, it's asks me "are you sure you want to UNinstall the selected program?" Why is it asking me to uninstall a program when the whole point is to install a new program? Is it maybe uninstalling the previous file that it might be replacing? Anyway, I cancelled the install because I didn't want to take any chances. If anyone has any answers to this, please let me know. My computer is running great at this point, so I don't want to screw it up if I don't have to.

Yes, it uninstalls the previous driver before installing the new one.

If your current configuration is working OK, I wouldn't worry about the update.
