When do you suppose the AMD TURION 64 ML-37 will start showing up on eBay? The fastest listed now is: AMD Turion 64 ML32 1.8ghz Item number: 6882322119, and two of these: AMD TURION 64 listed there now is the AMD TURION 64 ML-28. Item number: 6881184617

I want to buy ML-37 or MT-37 when they start showing up.

    UPDATE:
I found three: NEW AMD Turion Mobile MT-37 25 Item number: 6882578401

    Bah, they're cheaper at Newegg.

I've thought about swapping a MT40 into my dv8000z but looking at the service manual there's an awful lot of disassembly required.

Thanks for the link. Not a bad price. I think I'll wait a month or two for the price to drop even more.

Is this cpu swap doable? I've done a few Dell notebooks, but this is my first HP.

Has anyone done a cpu swap in a dv8000 series notebook yet?

There have been successful CPU upgrades for v2000z and l2000. Dv8000 should be fairly similar. If you choose MT processor, you may need RMClock to enable throttling and power management.
Look at the hardware forum, as well as AMD's mobile products forum.
