Hello,
I have a Compaq V6310US with the Turion TL-50 (64 X2 1.6 GHz), I have already sent it in for a new systemboard under HP's recall.
I use CPU-Z HWMonitor to monitor temps, here are my average LOAD temps (HL2/Counter-Strike:Source ~1 hour play time) with and without chill mat.
Without Chill Mat:
THRM: 79C
Core 0: 78C
Core 1: 85C
GPU: 98C
With Chill Mat:
THRM: 77C
Core 0: 75C
Core 1: 82C
GPU: 94C
Idle for both is more around ~30/25/35/58.
I get absolutely no signs of overheating during play. Are these acceptable temps or am I going to fry the GPU (or CPU) again in another year?
Especially the temps without the mat? I don't always use it because the temps are pretty similar with and without it anyway. Also, anyone knows what the THRM temp is exactly?
Thanks,
Bryan

the gpu is a little too high
-
and by a little high, do you mean its gonna fry on me pushing 98C over time, or will it tolerate it? I don't upgrade too often, too pricey, so I'd like it to last as long as possible.
CPU temps look ok @ 85C for the hottest core? -
you have an integrated gpu so you should be having a lower temp. 98c is normal for gaming gpu's like the 9800m gtx when under load
-
The 61xx is running high by design

But what I really am asking is can it's design tolerate it, or am I looking at hardware failure again in a short time?
It shows no signs of overheating, I can game/do whatever for hours, it just hits ~98C under high load. -
Its the design of the heatsink. The copper heat sink dosent reach far enough down for the chipset so they stick one of the blue pads to fill in the gap.

Ok, that makes sense.
But really what I want to know, since the system is obviously not going to run any cooler due to design flaws, I just want to know what these GPU's will tolerate? Is gaming with this system going to kill it, or can the GPU withstand temperatures around 98C?? -
Well, I am going to assume that if gaming GPUs can handle temps in the high 90s then so can my 6150... I mean, what choice do I have really? I doubt the difference from 94C with chillmat to 98C without is going to matter.
