How pleased are you with the ATI Radeon HD 3200 video card? What games have you played on it and how did it perform? I ask because I am about to purchase a dv5z. I play WoW and was wondering what kind of performance I should expect to see when playing the game. My specs below:

The only difference i have with your current spec is the higher AMD Turion Ultra ZM-80 2.1 Ghz...
I am also a WoW player, and yes the computer can definately play at its native resolution at 30 fps in Shattrath if you move some of the graphics qualities to low or medium, depends on how much you want to sacrifice all the details for a better gameplay. Personally, i have my distances set to 1/4 of the full bar, and many of the leaves and weather set to low, but i keep the general textures and spell detail to its max. there may be slight slowdowns upon venturing into a high pop area, but it shouldnt be a problem if you install 4gb of ram (make sure u get 64 bit vista too). Remember, it isnt a dedicated 8600gt, its still an IGP, so dont expect to have graphics compareable to any dedicated graphics solution.
My dv5z is an upgrade from a Dell Dimension 8200 desktop with a p4 2.0ghz, and a 9800pro graphics card, so i may be expecting less than someone who is more current with computer technology. Nevertheless, i am pleased with the 3200, my only gripe is my speculation that it uses more energy than other IGP solutions. -
I don't mind playing on a lower resolution. I also don't mind turning most of the graphics settings down either. My main gaming machine is a desktop, which I built to be a beast. This is just something incase I'm at my GFs house or somewhere and I want to log in.
Do you think your configuration will run WOTLK (new expansion) effectively?
Thanks for the help man. -
Plays WoW just fine on everything high settings.
Can only play Legend - Hand of God on LOW settings, and then it's still choppy.
Can play Call of Duty 2 on Directx 7 with high settings. Can only play Direct x 9 on low settings without choppiness.
Those are games i've tested. -
how well can it play counterstrike source and tf2?

I had a quick question. I used to have an HP nc6230 that had a ATI x300 64 mb graphics card which in the graphics card class is considered a class 4. Now I recently got a new laptop because my old one died and this new card was classified as a better class 3. But it seems to be running a little weaker than my old card when I was trying to run CS:S.
I remember for whatever reason the x300 did a pretty good job at keeping framerate pretty high up (or maybe I just can't remember incorrectly). But now I get fps that drops to around 20 when there's a lot of action. Is this expected? The laptop came with Vista which might be the reason, but then the laptop also has 3 gigs of ram so.. I don't know =/. Can anyone explain it to me? -
Sometime this weekend I plan on installing GTA:San Andreas. Lost and Age Of Empires 3. All should run with no major issues
