So it turns out that coupons come from third parties and not from hp themselves. I called their shopping line and the person helping me said that hp doesn't know when they get coupons, it all depends on third-parties that make you spend atleast x amount to be able to use the coupon... unless the person helping me was wrong. Just thought i'd share that information for the people who are waiting for coupons.

That doesn't seem accurate nor does it make sense. Why would coupon input on their own website be managed by a third party?

Well, that's what the person said. I was wondering too. She didn't specify what third party it was though... maybe intel trying to get more sales for processors?

Well third party vendors are usually what helps keep HP notebooks low in cost since they advertise by having their software trials put on HP's products. So I'm guessing, when they pay HP a certain amount of money, HP is able to generate coupons based on how much they get.

That's just a theory. Because there is no way HP would be willing to lose out money from coupons every week. That's why there's so much bloatware because third pary vendors/companies pay HP so much money to advertise. Therefore making their products cheaper for consumers.

Look at Apple, no advertisement what so ever hence the high price. Even though they essentialy use the same Intel hardware as HP. And also the fact that they tailor their software to the hardware is another factor. Anyway, that's my theory on that.
