Does HP and Compaq still accept or validate the $100 rebate?
I really want to buy a zx5000 before 07/31 before the $100 coupon expires.
But what concerns me is the rebate.
I'm afraid that if I send in the $100 rebate form and if HP does not accept that,
I might even lose the $50 rebate...[ :(]which is not a good thing...[B)]

so, I would like to ask if they do accept, and if any friends here did get their $100 rebated? Great thanks in Advance!!![ :D]

I have the R3000T and I will be applying for the 100$ rebate, its still on the site and it still applies to our systems. I think the new rebate just expires at a later date and they are going to advertise the one that saves them money, just like they don't publish all there cupon codes for us to find. It says I need a shipping invoice to get my rebate, but in the 2 computers I ordered from them niether had one!

Thanks DaGreek, that's a relief for me!!
cuz the coupon and rebate offers are very attractive
i'm planning to order one by the end of the month
but i have a bit struggle between zx5000 and zt3000...
I had one, too, between the R3000T and zx5000 before,
I liked the silver case of R3000T and a bit cheaper price, but I just had to make a choice, so I chose zx5000...but now I'm concerned of the battery life, size and weightT_T

well the battery life of the zx5000 will be between 2.5-3hours depending on usage. I find the weight very manageable for me, I take it to school everyday and carry it, just get a nice bag [ :)] It is a larger notebook but thats only because your getting a nice 15.4 inch widescreen, And I really love the screen! Its no monster computer like the HP7000 series. Your configuration effects the weight of course but I weighted mine at 8.1pounds, so its not to bad, add another pound for the AC power

Besides the $100 off any customizable HP Pavillion notebook w/XPPro over $999 (NB8218) which expires on July 31, there is also the $100 Rebate shown on the HP web site which expires on September 1 and applies to all "configure to order HP Pavillion notebooks PCs." So, as i see it there is no incentitive to order by July 31. In fact, the $100 Rebate which expires on September 1 does not require you to purchase XPPro. Agree?

I just ordered the zx5000 last night with the $100 off coupon code and it worked even though I didn't get XP Pro.

I believe they are a little tricky with the $100 MIR thing... if your talking about the one on the right side of the screen that says "Save $100 with mail-in rebate with purchase of select hp pavilion notebooks". When you click through that to the notebooks, like the zx5000, there is a "$50 mail-in rebate with the purchase of any new Pavilion notebook PC". I believe the other $50 they talk about comes from a rebate for a printer, "Add a Deskjet 5850 wireless printer to any customized model for just $49! (after rebates)"

You used the $100 coupon code (NB8218). But there is a $100 Rebate that expires on September 1. Go to the HP shopping and click on Mail in Rebates on the left, HP Pavillion notebooks, and then click on the third rebate down, which is a $100 Rebate.

But if I order after 07/31, I'll miss the $100 coupon even though I can still have the $100 rebate, right?
$100 is quite a difference in this case, for me. heh[:I]
since I don't know if they're gonna have another one in August or early September before college starts...
Do you know if they are gonna have a new coupon when this one expires?

    To DaGreek:
Thanks for the info and advice, I really appreciate that.
Your experience with your notebook is a strong backup for me!

My question is, can you use the $100 off coupon with the $100 Mail In Rebate? I would assume that would work for a $200 total savings, No?

I bought my ZT3000 just after they switched to the $50 rebate. My laptop came with a $50 rebate form in the box, but I dug up the $100 rebate from the HP website, and sent in the $100 one instead since it is supposed to be valid until this fall. It went through and now HP says that my $100 check has already been sent in the mail. Hehe. I was supposed to send in the $50 one, but I am so glad that they still gave me $100 back.

Does the 100 $ coupon code work with Compaqs or no ? ( the one that starts with N)
