OK, I'm going to format and reinstall XP Media Center on my DV5000T (dual-core) this weekend before university starts again.

If I make one partition for programs and another for videos/music/documents, any ideas how big should I make each (with 80GB HD, XP Media. I don't have many large programs)?
Can these sizes be adjusted later?
Can the "My Documents", "My Music" etc folders be redirected to the other partition?

Any help with these minor details would be appreciated:
    - What power management/temperature management etc utilities do I need? Something low-drain that will give me dual processor stats, temps and power management.
    - Do I need to install any special drivers to optimize the dual-core? (I did this before, but is it still necessary?)
    - Do I need a patch to extent the battery life (I did this before too, but I'm not sure if its still needed too.)

    Thanks!

1.Parition wise can be around 30/50 depending on how many programs vs how much you backup in docs/pics/vids (not a partition fan, why not get an external for actual backup)
2.With a program called Partition Magic or similar software you can resize later.
    3. Yes. Just open Windows Explorer, right-click on the My Documents folder, drag it wherever you like, select "MOVE HERE" and drop.
    4. I dont think you need any - use the BIOS to monitor temps IF you think the machine is running warm - why use extra resources if you dont have to. Otherwise I am sure you can find something on Intels site for monitoring.
    5. I dont think so, but I have been behind on Intel since AMD64 arrived. It is not necessary to do.
    6. If it helped before I am sure it would again.
