So, I'm about to order a new laptop from Costco and I have a question. I live in CA and I believe they ship laptops via Fedex, does Fedex require a signature to release the package upon delivery? I got shady people living around here and I wouldn't want my new laptop to be stolen. USPS leaves packages in plain view and so far I've gotten like 3 packages stolen from me.

Also, do you think hp will be offering any new discounts any time soon? Costco will give me the difference if hp does offer new discounts after I order, right?

    Thanks

Tell FedEx you want to pick it up if it is not too far.

Since your buying from costco do you get the discount for being a costco card member or not?

the price on the screen is the costco member price. If you are not a member I blieve they tack on 5% or something.

But, back to my question, will I have to sign or not? I asked Costco if a signature is required to recieve the package and they said that packages have timeframes for delivery, hence, they didn't answer my question.

My wife had to sign for mine when it came. BUT - leave a note on your door telling FedEx NOT to leave the package if no one answers your bell. You can then pick it up at the FeEx facility.

Recieved my computer, ordered from Costco, last week.

I was out of town, and called FedEx to ask if they could hold it for me. They told me they needed to attempt to deliver ONE TIME, but after that, they would hold it.

Also, they will absolutely require a signature! They realize that items from HP are (often) expensive computers, and they actually have a dept. which handles HP specifically. (Obvioulsy, Costco orders your custom configed computer from HP, so as far as FedEx is concerned, it's coming from HP)

When I tried to make changes to the delivery (asked them to leave it on hold at a FedEx located near my home, and open on Saturday nights till 11PM) they told me they usually would be able to do this, but being it's an item from HP, they can't. My computer had to be held at the FedEx office it was originally sent to. HP has very strict instructions on what FedEx can and cannot do

I know DHL and UPS have left notebooks at my door without requiring a signature.
