Ok, so i really debated a lot whether to post this in here or the accessories forum. If I made the wrong judgement call, apologies, but I am primarily interested in hearing from other owners of the dv6t.

Mine just came today, and since I also just sold a tarot deck of mine for a amazon gift certificate, I have some spare cash to spent on accessories for my shiny new friend, er, I mean, my new machine.

So far, I am getting a laptop sleeve. Debating about getting laptop mouse and/or laptop cooler. Have had both before at various point, not sure how much I need em, really, though...

So I got a bit curious, then. Other owners of this laptop or it's larger companion...what accessories do you use? What accessories do you think are most helpful/necessary with this machine especially? Anything you'd really suggest?

Get the Antec SNP90 slim power adapter to use on the go, very light and thin. The standard AC adapter that came with the laptop is huge and heavy, should stay home.

Get a laptop stand, no need for a cooler with fans. I think Intel chips are now past the days where we need to use laptop coolers. A stand which raises the rear-end by an inch should be sufficient.

The default power supply is 120watt, is that 90watt one safe to use under full load?

hmm. thanks for the suggestions. I'm not sure I really need either adaptor...I have the 9 cell battery so I am hoping I will be able to get by fine on just battery life when out and about, but if it turns out that's not enough, will keep this in mind also. As for a regular stand...the battery actually raises the thing up from the back itself...would a stand still be necessary? hum.

interested to hear other people's takes on whether coolers are aye or nay for them with this laptop...

I purchased roughly an extra $1000.00USD worth of additional goodies when I ordered my dv6tqe. The two items I was most impressed with are the HP USB Media Port Replicator, Notebook Stand, Audio Speakers and Subwoofer, Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Bundle. Which gave me an area to safely keep my notebook when I wasn't using it as well as somewhere to stand it when it was connected to an external monitor. Basically, I can sit in an easy chair and view everything on my 40" LCD in my gameroom, while typing away using the wireless keyboard/mouse. It does not charge the laptop and only provides 10/100Mbps ethernet while docked (so you'll have two power dongles coming from the back - one for the notebook and one for the media dock), but I do find it handy. Good speaker quality as well. I also like the HP 1TB USB 3.0 portable HDD. This is extremely useful because my notebook was configured with the 160gig SSD. Small, compact and takes full advantage of the 3.0 USB ports on the notebook. Being that it is designed for portability, there is only the one USB connection. There is no separate cord for power as it is supplied directly off of USB.

    izzy's two-cents. ;)
