I just bought the Witcher 2 and before playing it I updated my drivers according to:

This is from the first post of http://forum.notebookreview.com/hp-...xx-read-here-answers-switchable-graphics.html

Before I installed that I was running normal drivers from HP.

So I opened my game and everything was choppy and had incredible lag. Unplayable.

I uninstalled the beta drivers I had just installed, restarted and now I don't know what drivers I have. I can't open up configurable graphics like before (by right clicking on the desktop) because those options aren't there anymore.

    What do I do now?

Go to HP recovery manager. Install driver

In order to update your drivers, you FIRST need to update the catalyst via windows update or AMD's web site (not sure, but thats what I did).

THEN download the driver from the sticky and install

Reinstall your HP drivers and try again. If that doesnt work, get Driver Sweeper and clean out all AMD files/drivers from your computer. And then reinstall your HP drivers again.

There is now a 11.6b driver which is basically the 11.7. Use these drivers instead...AFTER you have installed the HP base drivers.

    These drivers are official:

    AMD Catalyst 11.7b Hotfix (8.871 June 27) - Guru3D.com Forums

When you start again, make sure the game you are playing is on High Performance on CCC. Sometimes on an upgrade it wipes your preferences which could explain your choppiness.

Ok, I made sure everything was uninstalled. Restarted. Used HP Recovery Manager to install HP drivers, restarted. 'Windows Updated' 6770m, restarted. Downloaded and installed the new mobility in that link, restarted. I made sure Witcher 2 is on High Performance. Graphics settings are set to low, med, high. All have the same issue.

One of the weirdest things happening is that when I move the mouse (in game) it ghosts where I move it, then the icon follows that path I just made but with 2 seconds lag. All gameplay I've been able to sit through has been like this. It's choppy, has random black areas and black lines and video seems to ghost.

Update: I reinstalled the HP drivers and all problems disappeared.

So, are you saying don't update the 6770m, just leave the stock HP drivers that came on the machine?

He saying that, just use HP Graphic Drivers only if you want stability. Otherwise, you can risk using newer drivers from AMD instead from HP, you might get some performance gains at the cost of stability and some trouble.
