From your experience, how accurate are the estimated build dates?

How much time for each stage about?

I just ordered one of the new Envy's, and it now says Order Dropped to Factory, how long about till they start building it would you estimate from past experiences?

Usually gets shipped before that date. As for each stage, too variable to say.

Ok, thanks for the reply, it has been a number of years since I last custom ordered with HP with my current HDX16t. Didn't know how things were working now and how the process has changed.

Should we assume that it will be built a week or so after being sent to the factory? Or only a day or two before the quote?

Maybe also a good question, where are the factories usually at that they will send the orders to be built? Do Envy's get priority? Are Envy's built by a group that work exclusively on them?

I ordered mine on the 7th and the status changed from "Order Dropped to Factory" to now "Order in production". The ship date is the same, December 23. I hope it ships before that time.

Mine was ordered on the 8th in the mid-afternoon, sometime yesterday morning it went from "Order Accepted" to "Order Dropped to Factory". I hope my gets "Order in production" soon

Anyone know if the factories build laptop 24/7 or if they have any shifts on the weekend, if not, I will probably not check my order status till Monday?

I doubt that they get the weekend off in Chinese factories after the stories we heard about Foxconn last year ;)

I placed my order on the 7th. Est ship date was the 23rd. As of this am, it is at the FEDEX destination sort facility in seattle and scheduled to be dlevered tomorrow 12/22. pretty sweet. many others are reporting same. 12 days to build and ship is about 5 days earlier than hp originally estimated.
