Is it just me or does Acrobat Reader 8 look HORRIBLE on dv6500t 8400GS running Vista? Text in PDFs is not smooth and look "blocky"- no curves.

This is my first Vista machine, so I'm clueless... is it the HP screen? Vista?

All other software renders text well, just not PDF... and Acrobat Reader 8.1.1 works fine on my XP desktop.

same here. I usually open pdf files w/ floorplans w/ lots of text and they look perfect.

Worked perfect! I had smoothing set to None. Thanks! Geez I'm usually pretty good with setting app options- not sure how I missed that one.

You guys wouldn't know how to make scrolling with the mouse wheel faster? So slow...

for the scrolling problem, go to Control Panel and open up Mouse settings

Select the *Wheel* Tab and increase "The Following Number of Lines at a Time" ;)

For me it doesn't mention lines at a time, just speed- maybe because I'm using MS IntelliPoint SW on Vista? In any case, I increased it- no change.

I think it's Adobe... I'll scroll, then there's like a 2 second delay, then the program scrolls. If I do multiple scrolls consecutively, nothing happens and in the title bar it shows "(Not Responding)".

I may just check out foxit reader now... I've hated Adobe since the slow-loading version 6.

I downloaded and installed foxit... it's amazing! NO delays like I was seeing with Acrobat.

hi can you provide the link for foxit reader? might give it a try. Adobe hogs resources, keeps annoying me to update and automatically makes folders in My Documents for updates
