I've been looking at the HP nw8240 (Part#: PZ093UA, the one that doesn't come with it) and am curious if you're able to add an internal bluetooth card..? I know it comes with the bluetooth antennas but I haven't been able to find much info on adding the card. The nw8240 is spec'd out perfectly for me with this one exception of lack of the integrated bluetooth.
Thanks for any info!

Buy a Targus bluetooth mouse. It comes with a USB reciever that will handle up to (Ithink I have the number right) 5 devices. Total cost about 50 bucks.

Ya, there are tons of usb bluetooth adapters available but i'm really curious to see if hp offers an internal card I can pop in there.
thanks! -
Bluetooth dongle is an option but it sticks out of you laptop. Adding internal bluetooth is difficult and costly. I would choose the PCI card. See this post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=27309

Thanks for the info, vassil. That is exactly why I am trying to avoid using a dongle (sticks out) and would prefer to go with the internal mini pci bluetooth card as the notebook already comes with the antennas built in. Looks like i'll just go with the sd bluetooth card unless anyone has a part# for the internal hp wireless card. -
Homercles,
Here's the part number for the Bluetooth module for the nw8240.
367871-001 $48.00USD Embedded Bluetooth module (Broadcom) - USB 2.0 compatible
This is not really a card, more like a module. It's located under the left palmrest. There's a little small screw holding a piece of plastic approx .5"x.25" and the module fits into this area. I have the module in my nx8220 which is based on the same design as the nw8240.

Thank you for the info. Certainly a late reply but looking at the BT module via hp direct it does not include the necessary cable (according to their website). Is there a seperate part# for the cable or can you recommend an alternative as far as where to purchase?
Thanks -
I'd suggest you download the SERVICE AND MAINTANCE GUIDE for you unit, and then POP the covers off to see if you "see" the cables... More than likely they are already there.
www.hp.com, type in your model number, document section.
Try HP Partsurfer for a listing of parts, maybe trying another model number to see if a seperate cable is listed for those units that come "standard" with the bluetooth module.

I've looked all over for that part to purchase but can't find it. Do you have a link that I can use to purchase the item?
Thanks in advance.

367871-001 will not work in the nw8240, the cable it comes with is far too long to jam in space for the module. 348277-001 is the right module and 345056-001 is a separate cable kit if needed.
Add internal bluetooth card to nw8240?
