Can the bluetooth module from the DV8240 be added to the DV8230?

Since both models are in essence the same, I'm inclined to say yes. Is it USB device or a card?

I believe that is not the answer he is looking for.

obviously he means card. yes you can do it but its going to be very hard to find the module. The only module i can find on ebay is this.

Plus even if you find it, your going to have to unscrew the bottom panel of the case. be easier for everyone to upgrade.

Just wish it would use a mini slot in conjunction with the wifi.

Thanks Totalfixation. It's a long story but I'm "stuck" with this laptop. That's whjy I'm just looking to upgrade.

HP lists the bluetooth module for the 8240 as part 397922-001 but it doesn't seem to be sold seperately. It lists it as an "embedded Bluetooth circuit board". I'm guessing that means it's integrated right into the motherboard. Too bad.

Does anyone know of any ExpressCard or PCMCIA bluetooth adapters that sit flush with the PC? I've seen some but that all have large antennas that sit out. I put my laptop in and out of a case all day and I don't want the antenna getting stuck. I don't want to have to keep plugging in and unplugging the card either.
