I have a new HP DV7T and a Vertex 4 SSD they drive came with the Acronis software. I have the SSD in an enclosure and the program is able to see it. I have the option to clone the drive and make a bootable copy. My question is if I close this option will I still be able to boot from my main drive until I add the SSD to my laptop?

Yes, it'll still check the main drive first unless you change the boot order priority settings for the HP in the BIOs.
