I may be getting a huge promotion in work (like, part owner of a small business - HUGE promotion), but with more pay comes more responsibility, and I will need to have Internet access even while on the road. I already have a smartphone, but it just doesn't cut it when you need to write a lengthy email or use a keyboard / mouse.
So, my options are to either use a 3G / 4G external USB modem or add a WWAN (Mobile Broadband) card to my Envy 14. The internal card would be preferable, since it won't take up one of our precious USB ports (and considering I use a mouse and external eSATAp hard drive, USB slots are a rare commodity).
Anyway, my questions are:
1. What WWAN card should I buy? The Maintenance and Service guide lists spare part number 531993-001, which gave me this picture: 531993-001. I can't find a price on their spare parts website though.
2. Are there any non-HP WWAN cards that will work? If someone could link to one on Amazon or Newegg that will definitely work in the Envy 14, I'd be very grateful.![]()
3. These WWAN cards will work with Verizon's 3G service, correct? I'd like to get a plan through them (since that's where my cell is) rather than AT&T.
Thanks!

HP whitelists devices in the BIOS, so you can only use HP's WWAN card.
Also, non-WWAN devices don't have the antenna installed in the display. It will be very hard to find a suitable antenna and install it.
See here for a disassembly guide:

Yeah, that would be the best way to go
Adding a WWAN card to the Envy 14?
