There seems to be a 100 different answers on how to accomplish this.. I am fairly savvy when it comes to opening up my notebook I am just wondering if this can be done and if so what the part number (with wires is) and where I can get it?
Man Thanks!

It depends... they way HP makes there boards is... they make a board that can support everything and mix and match what they have implemented... so it all depends if they have the components there or not... it may be as easy as buying the peripheral... plugging and screwing it in.... otherwise it would involve alot of soldering and adding and removing capacitors and transistors.

3: make sure to download the service manual because it has the correct part numbers listed and you will need 2 of them. one for the bluethooth radio (412766-002) and one for the cable kit (448015-001) that has the correct bluetooth cable in it. total cost is around 200 bucks for everything.
edit: i just looked in your manual and it does not list a cable kit part number, but the cable from the dv6700/dv9500/dv9600/dv9700 cable kits should be the same. -
word to the wise...do not buy the kit on ebay made for our dv6000's. I did and unfortuantly the cable that the give does not fit the dv6000. After talking to HP for hours on the subject you would have to buy the cable kit in order to get the board to work. It is just safer to buy the part from HP and the Cable kit also as listed in the post before. From HP your going to spend $75 for the card and $80 for the cables plus shipping...or you could buy the board on ebay for $50 and the cables from HP. Either way you'll need to order both. I was able to get a refund for the kit I bought on ebay but spent a hour tearing apart my brand new computer to try and get it to fit. I suggest that you buy a small bluetooth like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/Smallest-Blueto...ryZ44999QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
even though you'll still be using a usb it won't stick out much. -
hmmm.isnt that the bluetooth kits already provide cables on it?

not 100% sure since I didn't buy the kit from HP and the guy on the phone at HP couldn't say if it was or wasn't. I was referring to the one on ebay...the cable that comes with it doesn't work for the DV6707US.
